Re: Bass guitar mod

1. Great IDEA! 2. it wont have a tone knob unless you add one 4. most pots would be 250, 500 and 1000, not too many 350k pots floating around guitar stores. 3. how you do it will depend on how your preamp is currently wired. and which part of the circuit you would want to do it in. ideally you would...

Re: What's your rig?

Just added a second SL112 to the set up with awesome results. I was finding in high volume settings with the one cabinet the tone wasn't sounding as good as I knew it should, so I think adding the second cabinet to the mix has solved that issue - much louder and able to push all those nice tones at...

Re: Active to Active/Passive mod?

yup. the pot potatoes posted would would work. would just have to figure out which part of the circuit you want it in. if reckon just get a normal 'tone' pot (i.e. adding a cap on it) and bypass your preamp, so just have volume- balance (im assuming pickup selector) - tone - output. Just to see if y...

Re: What's hot on Trademe right now!

Tim, I'd say that the neck on my 62 is slimmer than the RI for sure. No stability or warping issues with either of them. My friend's 60 (or 64 I can't remember now lol) was a nice bass for sure, but I did find it underwhelming in comparison to both of mine. I've recently acquired a 68 Ampeg AMUB-1 ...

Re: New 'hissing' problem

those two channels are notoriously bad, the single channel DI100 is pretty decent fyi.

i would love a radial sb-2. now if there was one on trade me!

Re: New 'hissing' problem

well. most DI boxes can work with phantom power from the desk. a problem with some of the behringer DI boxes are that they are really noisy.
which specific model is it? take it back i reckon, and hopefully the next one doesnt act up after awhile.

Re: New 'hissing' problem

Ok, so I bought an external DI box (Behringer) and that solved the problem... for a while.... now the buzzing's come back... I was wondering it having the DI Box on top of my amp might have something to do with it - because it does have a 9v battery in it We've tried pretty much everything else to ...

Re:

New tube pre/compressor day!!! Well two days ago and it's not really a pedal but I wasn't sure where to put this and it doesn't warrant it's own thread. I was in the market for a compressor pedal to take care of the odd rogue note and I saw that these were $70 off on sale so I went and tried it out...

Re: Instrument Cables - ones that lasts and are good value for money?

im pretty sure i kept loosing mine instead of having them faulty.. but i guess everyone has different experiences. those silent plugs they had definitely didnt work unlike the neutrik ones. i ended up having the braided orange dimarzios. those wont get stolen... or instantly recognisable when they do

Re: Instrument Cables - ones that lasts and are good value for money?

planet waves have a limited lifetime warranty. you may have to keep your docket, or probably the packaging, but they are well worth the money.

the lava stuff are top notch and within your budget.
