Re: Adding a sub into your rig/using the PA sub.

Probably no point on your on stage rig, as this is your monitor only and would have no effect on the front of house sound (what the audience hears). Let the PA (sound reinforcement system) do all the work. As long as you have a good sound man it will sound good.

Re: SWR Workingman's 12- opinions?

Hi, Good amp with great sound. If using in a small venue fine, but will run out of headroom in larger rooms unless DI'd. The aural enhancer is a nice control to colour your sound. From memory it also has headphone socket for private rehearsal plus RCA inputs. Carry handle on the top is a bit awkward....

Re: Christchurch Bass Day 27 MAY

Yep, Great to meet some fellow bass players and forum members. The range of equipment on hand and the experience wielded from only 5 members was especially gratifying, as was the opportunity to test drive numerous basses. Imagine if we all got together hypothetically, we would need a week at least. ...

Re: Christchurch Bass Day 27 MAY

Folks,

I can bring my rather condensed rig for your trial/comparison. Basically an Ashdown MAG300 combo using 2 x 10 speakers.

Jim Marshall RIP

I saw today with great regret that Jim Marshall has passed away at the grand age of 88. Although the Marshall brand might be associated with guitar amplification, the company produced some great bass amps/cabinets. My road warrior for 10 years was a DBS head and 4x10 cabinet, and I have also used a ...

Re: Top bass lines of all time ...

Hi,

What about simple but supporting the song? I'm thinking My Girl with James Jamerson on bass, or Papa was a Rolling Stone (unknown bassist- Larry Graham?).
Just a different slant.
Cheers,

Hi guys,

We are currently in Cromwell, but checked in with family in CHCH and they have come through unscathed.
We were there for Sept quake, we felt this one down here.

Absolutely,

Whomever the player was I have always liked the lines and feel on a lot of LRB tracks.
They inspire you to learn new approaches to songs.
