The band sounds very pro , the gigs will come knocking I'm sure. :) Thanks Pins! Yeah the Jazz works huh. Perfect for these songs. Do you guys find time to rehearse? only reason...

Probably not. It's more about getting free live video + recording and having some fun.

R.I.P. Jack Bruce

Sadly Jack Bruce died today (UK time) aged 71.
Another amazing musician and trail blazer for bass players as left the stage.
Condolences to his family.

Wow thanks man.
Yeah it's a fun setlist. I haven't had the opportunity to play quite a few of these songs so it's good fun.

Re: Are Bass Players a dying breed?

I haven't heard anything to suggest that... established bass teachers would probibly have a better idea than shops.
For shops I'm guessing there's not enough sales to justify the stock levels... but of course they won't sell what they don't have.

The Bravos

Just thought I'd put a little plug in for a new covers band I just joined. It's brand new having recorded 6 quick demos and yet to play it's first gig. I'm quite excited by it as the songs are mainly motown but not played strictly to the original. Plenty of scope for improvisation or injecting my ow...

Re: Promote your band.

Hey Nev, good stuff man. Cool to finally see you playing! I don't remember you guys having a keyboardist when I filled in for you many moons ago. My band Black Dog did that gig with Shane a while back for a bit of fun. Unfortunately their sound guy didn't seem to notice that the bass wasn't turned u...

Re: Advice on bass setup

And if you're a "dig in to get tone and dynamics type player" and want to get that Geddy Lee sort of sound, you actually WANT fret buzz... I think you've hit on a great point here. Fret buzz can be musical in itself in an 'organic' kinda way and it can add character to your sound. Also buzz may be ...
