Stonefield basses, anyone???

Post by Tim1 » Wed Feb 22, 2017 6:07 am

Over the past several months I have been intrigued by the emergence of Stonefield basses in the bass media. They have been advertising regularly in Bass Player magazine and I notice they were featured recently at Bass Player live. Owner Tomm Stanley has some interesting ideas, including the tuning system and his passive eq setup. Endorsed by Freekbass (although I had never previously heard of him - shows my narrow vision, I suppose).
The most interesting thing is that these are made in Christchurch and sell for big bucks overseas. Has anyone here tried a Stonefield or know anything more about them? I am wondering whether NZ prices are more favorable for us since there are no export/import costs involved.

Tomm came around and bought an amp from me and he also showed me one of his latest builds. Most impressed 😊
