Fender Jaguar Gas

Post by irvinz » Sun Aug 23, 2009 10:48 am

So those who've known me for awhile, have known that i have always wanted a fender jaguar (even the dj/shop manager at work). even tried to get a custom one built from adrian at ashcustomwork but decided not to in the end as i've been going through way too many basses to even try keep a custom built one worth my money and their time.

after a gig on thursday night, it got me going again. i want one! i would never really have the preamps on, and i would have the pickups switched out. for some nordstrands, lollars or some quarterpounders. funny thing on thursday morning the boss was asking if we wanted a white jaguar with block inlays for the shop....

im such a loser for trying to replace that gas with other stuff

i think the p plus is definitely going one of these days for a jaguar. :?

Sounds to me like you should do it!

Lifes short.... Worst case is you dont like it and end up selling it. If you buy 2nd hand you shouldn't loose any money if you wanna flick it on again.

dropped off my red jazz bass to adrian at ashcustomworks earlier on.

i think his site is ashcustomworks.co.nz for reference =)

its gonna be reshapped close to a fender jaguar and refinished white. im gonna put in a pedal into the bass too. just remembered bout block fretboards.... might be too expensive. will have to see how long it takes!!

its also gonna be routed for a p pickup. so if i want to i can swap out the j when desired.

There's just something about those Jaguar basses that I find really unappealing. Just get a Jazz, a passive one.

I'm considering buying a Jag Bass as a little sister for my Jazz.

Or should I get the Vintage American ' 62 Reissue Jaguar... Don't want to cheat on my darling...

The Jag bass is pretty much a MIJ Jazz with LOTS of controls (*fiddlefiddlefiddle* :D ) and a Jag body. Jazz pickups, Jazz neck (yep, you read that right).

Tonally, it's quite similar. Awesome for tone-perfectionist or experimenting bassists, and it's still sexy.
A-boom boom boom boom!
