This is the Korean version, but from what I have read on the net the hardware and electronics are identical to the German made version.Watched a few vids and listened to some sound clips and I dig the sound produced.
I am still looking for something in a bass that I have yet to find in any of the 8 basses I own,and stupidly enough I dont really know what Im looking for, but hope one day to pick up a bass and say "Yes this is it" !

This is what got me interested,

loved the german ones they had in the rockshop few years ago. no idea if they are still there. beautiful pieces!

Yep the German items are pretty special, but at around $6-7k it would have to be.
The wood and made in Germany adds around $4k over the Korean "Pro" version.

Wowza! 6-7k is a crazy amount of money to spend on a bass.

Just retain all the German hardware, make it in Korea(using different woods I guess),call it "Pro Series" and retail it for $1700,worth a look and a play if nothing else :D

You can always lash out $9k for this one,

Well its here, and there is definitely no Warwick hate from me,in the flesh this Bass is stunning ! I can not fault it in any way,the build quality is spot on.Had a quick jam just now during lunch and it has all the tones one could wish for.So far Im impressed.
The big test will be a jam I have tonight, with a rowdy Drummer and Guitard. Will run it through its paces using my Genz Benz amp and cab and give you my verdict later tonight.
Get this it also comes with a free Warwick little combo practice amp !

I had one of the original Dolphins about twenty years ago, and recorded an album with it. I never quite gelled with it though and eventually got rid of it. Not organic enough for my tastes, it used to remind me of a piano sound - very tight, with not much overhang on notes - although it looked great on stage (to my eyes anyway). Guess I never liked active tone controls.

I was finding it hard to come back and admit that I really love it
I used it at the jam on Fri night for around an hour, and really dug the way it sounded, easy to play, feels great, sounds great.
So then I grabbed my new beloved P bass and put that through its paces and really couldn't wait to ditch it and grab the Warwick again.
For a semi hollow body passive bass it rocks with such a variety of tones, its quite unbelievable really.I wanted to jam till the sun came up.
Trouble is I dont want to give it back, and cant really afford to buy it,and cant justify having 9 basses.I just dont know what to do,hence the silence.

I wasn't expecting this bass to be so good in all honesty. :?

On paper the answer looks clear to me. Buy it and sell a bass or two, like you said you don't need 9 basses and you really like this one.

But I know what is is like not wanting to see any basses
