Fodera Emperor 5 Standard

Post by ryla » Fri Jul 10, 2015 8:37 pm

Ok, you've seen them and their price tag. Has anyone here tried one? The Emperor standard gives me gas, but only if I won lotto.

Well I've been to a janek gwizdala clinic where he was playing his fodera, which isn't the emperor exactly but looks to be a quite similar custom version.. All I can say is it sounded friggen sweet, but of course it helps that he is an incredible player. I asked him what he thought about playing those types of basses, the answer was more or less that it was totally not needed for almost all gigs, but it really helps if you are doing solo bass feature type stuff as he does as it allows you just that little extra bit of articulation in your playing.

I think he's right, it's an indulgence unless you are really doing the type of stuff where the differences between that and a nice mass produced bass would actually show. I can't help but have a chuckle when I see someone plonking away on a $5000-10000 instrument in a dingy bar to AC/DC covers with nothing but mud actually coming through the mix.. And that probably happens more than I see the owners of those instruments doing them justice

Noticed the same thing, Foal. Wonder if he will list it.

Are you talking the Chinese knock off or the guy who built a custom replica from parts? There were two up.

I know the guy who is selling the latter bass if you're interested and he doesn't relist

Btw Bronze you can't ask questions like your last one on TM. They will boot you off.
