Pop Fretless Nev

Post by foal30 » Sat Aug 29, 2009 8:49 pm

been too quiet down south I say

I hear this on the radio
"What I am"

E Brickell and the New Bohemians

it's quite a good bassline Nev on a fretless

I think it only has 4 chords
and 2 sections
probably D major is the key

the verse and the chorus can be broken into 2 bar chunk

Bm D / A / Bm /

and the middle 8 which is
Em / Dmaj /

it's quite a boppy and poppy bassline, ghost note 16's and the obligatory slides.
the bassplayer is Brad Houser

Too true! Been way too busy!

Not familiar with the song but will give it a go and let you know how I get on.

Been trying to get my lame ears to work on this one without cheating (well, I can see Jack's fingers for a bit of it, but I don't count that as cheating)

Ha.

yes I think it's 2 bars of each chord
ear training = foal fail :)
pleased about Dbmaj though.

it's actually quite a good record despite horrendous art work
I very much enjoy his take on Amazing Grace, Red Baron and Burning Down the House

Got the intro sorted... maybe my ear is improving after all :D Need to get some sort of looper to make the process a bit easier though.
