OGA

Does anyone else get OGA? no it's not an OHS thing. It's what our band call Own Gig Anxiety. It's what happens when the band member that books the band has high value personal expectations eg, playing to family and friends and hoping for a perfect performance from band mates. This leads to said band member stressing out and making mistakes. It also leads to fellow band members winding up OGA sufferer (oh I left my hi hat at home,, oh I've only got my shorts, left my suit at home) when these items are in the car outside. OGA has serious humerous moments, but can also lead to " the look of death" from OGA sufferer on stage You have to be very judicious in how far you can wind up the OGA sufferer in your band. and if it's you having the OGA, I suggest you try reverse psychology.
