Cheap courier options for shipping a bass?
Has anybody had the experience of shipping a bass guitar by courier within New Zealand and know where to get the best deals? I currently have a couple of basses that i am looking at selling and am trying to get rough calculations about how much it would cost to courier. Interested in the costs to ship to North and South Island (rural and non-rural) and within the city of Auckland - shipping would be from East Auckland. And if people have links to any of the courier companies to calculate estimated shipping cost would be fantastic. I have looked at NZ post and it seems a bit expensive...

Re: Cheap courier options for shipping a bass?
Hiya,
I have shipped basses and saxophones that all had their own cases that I have sold using Fastways and they have all arrived at the buyers in good time and without damage. E.g. Bass from Gisborne to Auckland for around $25.00 to $30.00 inc $1500.00 insurance. South Island is a little more. The key to shipping anything by courier is how you pack it. Strong purpose built cardboard box, lots of packaging tape, clear labeling and usually no problems.
Cheers
