I'm thinking he's made a bit of dosh out of you in the past ... of course he'll swap it... it's not like you are cancelling an order all together
nah. never done anything remotely like that. but he has been in a fit since i've told him that i still do shop at the RS for other needs =)

i'm gonna get both. my fenders are up for sale (including my tele). should be the end of the quest.
that said if i ever need a 5 string.... or if i get itchy (it'll probably be for a jazz)

the 5 string G&Ls have really changed my mind bout having the extra 5th string. really comfortable to play too... yet another temptation. but a L2000 and SB-2 would be way more than enough for me =)

just needing to pay for this. boy is it lovely

Image

all to my spec. naturally i like

but in the two months waiting for it i've been quite comfortable with some P necks. for some funny reason. my playing has diversified a lil as well. not hugely. but a lil.

still, im happy.

now i gotta decide on the fate of the boner. might go for a SB-2 in fullerton red in exchange.

I was bass-GAS free a year back... Ampeg SVT3 on the 8x10 with the Jazz bass I've had for 15 years was all I needed. I downsized the 8x10 to an Ampeg Bseries 4x10 when I stopped gigging regularly, so I miss that white binding round the grill cloth, but thats about the extent of it.

6 string gas is another story tho... In search of that perfect sound, I've already got 3 drive/boost pedals on the board and there will probably be another 2 on the way soon, the list of amps I'd like to play through is as long as my arm, and the last guitar I bought hasn't even arrived at home yet, and I'm making offers on another one.

IT NEVER ENDS!!!!

keeps life interesting though yeah? If only the missus understood :?

I'm pretty much gas free...mainly because I'd have to import anything that took my fancy from the US and I no longer have the disposable income I used to have pre-recession. But I have all the basses I need so I'm content with what I have, plus have enough spare parts to have custom made a few instruments if my needs change substantially. ;)

Well I've had serious GAS for all sorts of things but above all a new Cab to replace my aging Fender 410 8ohm 400w bin,and guess what thanks to Dave at NZRS joining BPNZ I have stuck a deal on a new Genz Benz Uber 410 4ohm 1000w Cab :D
Going to be a great match for my Sunn 1200s Amp. Yes !!

Now comes the awful wait till delivery

btw I am never ever GAS free :P

It's easy to be GAS free when you have no money, you're not gigging and you work in the perpetual candy shop.

The problem is that you guys walk in and see stuff and go 'wow ... must have ... trade wife ... must have ... sell kids ... etc'

But I had that every day for the first few months of working there.

Now I just walk past the coolest gear and don't raise and eyebrow ... can't afford and am actually happy with my basic rig as it is.

Sad, aren't I?
