#1 in your record collection
Which Bass Player is #1 for appearances in your recorded music collection?
= Same Bass Player with different recording artist.

Re: #1 in your record collection
Truth is, in most cases I have no idea who is playing in what bands...
Sometimes I'll know the guitarist by reputation. The singer probably. The bassist - very unlikely. The drummer, almost never. There are exceptions, of course... like that dude in equus..

#1 for appearances...
Would have to be either:
A) Mike Dirnt, Green Day. Fender Precision.
B) Rick Savage, Def Leppard. Union Jack Washburn XB925.
Yep, I listen to music that's way, way older than I am.
Afterthought: Probably Rick Savage.

Rick Savage interesting. I only have Pyromania and Hysteria, I though he used Hammer exclusively

Re: #1 in your record collection
According to my memory, he's played Hamer, Washburn (about '99 to '09), and Jackson, in that order.

Well that explains it... I lost interest after the late 80 when "Steamin" Steve died...But Rick is a solid ass player, for sure
Re: #1 in your record collection
Interesting question Reuben... and thinking about it, it could be Willie Kent (signing bass player from Chicago... won the Best Blues Bass Player in the Handy Awards about 8 times before his death and why he isn't in the Hall of Fame, Christ alone knows, but don't get me started
).
However, thinking more about it that would be him fronting is own band, so doesn't qualify for "Same Bass Player with different recording artist."
In that case it could be Calvin "Fuzz" Jones, again... bass player out of Chicago in the 50s, 60s etc.
Tommy Shannon might come close... he's played with a heap of guys.

Re: #1 in your record collection
Willie Kent's P Bass , did it get sold to a Japanese collector?
some insane coin IIRC
Willie Dixon, now he must be on about 8000 of your slides Sean.
as for Tommy Shannon I am supposed to be tracking down his contribution to Johnnie Winter recordings (late '60s?)
I don't know Fuzz Jones at all sorry
