Tony Levin

I went to the G-Taranaki guitar festival. Being a guitarist there were many highlights, but one of them was Tony Levin's workshop. There was probably 50 of us sitting there listening to him talking about his career and his playing. He talked about the Chapman stick and his finger extensions, both of which he demonstrated.

Really nice guy too. Mellow, down to earth and gracious.

he also has a shiny head, which reminds me of a Malteaser, but not as much as the lead singer from '70s UK pop/soul sensations , Hot Chocolate.

Levin's part on Pete Gabriel's "Sledgehammer" is poptastic goodness. I also like his print interviews, seems like a top bloke and a heap of interesting stories/ideas/concepts.

I'm trying to think of the Paul Simon hit that starts with Tony's bass. He played it there and it's so recognisable.
