He's amazing. I have a large number of CDs by them...he is particularly a tonal inspiration for a new band.

Something I wondered though - did I see him using aluminium coned speaker cabs in one of the YT vids? :?

In that vid it looks like he's got a aluminium Hartkey 4x10 hooked up to an 800RB ... although I think he's actually using the lower SWR 4x10 with an Ampeg

Bloody hell.

Maybe it's a sort of stereo or biamp situation, where the fucking horrible aluminium tone is mixed with something awesome to make things even?

haha ... yeah maybe biamp but I'd pick he just switches between them for different sounds.
Those alu hartkies were all the rage when I bought my first rig... glad they weren't in stock when I was buying.

anyone with a hairstyle like Larry's has to be on the money
those Hartke cabs were seriously all the rage
if surprized people are bagging stylistic advances of the '80's ... after all it was a great decade of innovation and art

I have some live stuff of Sonny Thompson (w/Prince) fair pounding a Warwick :D no less through 1 and he still sounds righteous.
