Not really a fan of their modern guitar amps, but I've owned an Orange AD200B for 6ish years, amazing amp and prefer it over my SVT.

Never played a Terror Bass, meant to be pretty good and a friend who has one likes his. No idea about the small combos.

Tony's Orange beast  which IIRC is the same model as Timi's is a mighty piece of kit.

sounds like a proper bass amp, bees knees with P Bass/Flats

Of course you drag the amazing sounding amp to the venue and the engineer sticks a DI in front...

Yep, got to agree about a P with flats into the AD200 - run mine through a Bergantino 215 cab and it is close to bass heaven.

I have just today taken posession of a Fender Super Bassman 300 head. My absolutely mint Orange AD200 will therefore be back on the market (some may remember I put it on TradeMe a while ago but could not bring myself to let it go). I unfortunately cannot convince my wife that owning three all tube heads is a "good thing" and something for which she should admire me. Send me a message if you are interested in making an offer before I list it on TradeMe. It is working perfectly.

Seriously, you must have a back of titanium.

Man, I'd *love* one of those Sunn 300T/Fender Bassman 300 amps, they are awesome. Ad200 is still the best bass amp I've owned, and you know you'll miss it.

I know, I know :(
By the way, the new Fender Super Bassman 300 is a totally different beast to the old 300Pro/Sunn 300T. New circuitry and incredibly versatile preamp. I can get pretty close to the Orange vibe with it if I want. The real jewel in the crown of the new Fender heads is the 100T IMO - a very loud 100 tube watts with much more clean headroom than the old Bassman heads and 25/100watt switch. Both heads have automatic biasing which also allows easy user bias hotter or colder. (I have both heads, unfortunately my wife can count - hence the Orange has to go  ).

Here's a question;

what's the annual upkeep on an AD200?
how often do the tubes need replacing?
to replace the tubes you currently have Tim and/or Tony how much $ ?

thanks.

I can't really answer the first two but it's not like it burns through tubes, and mine has been solid as a rock.
It also has a very simple circuit so servicing is never going to be particularly spendy.
There are 3x preamp tubes (2x12AX7 $28.50 each, 1x12AU7 31.50 each from Freedom Music) and 4x power amp tubes (6550's or KT88's, Freedom music has a quad of KT88's for $430.00, I'd get 4x Sovtek 6550's from the states for $220ish)

I've owned mine for about 6 years, but it hasn't had heavy use and isn't getting moved around much, plus it's pretty damn loud so I'm not driving it that hard. I'm still on the originals but I had an output tube blow a few years back but was able to get a used replacement that matched pretty close so just went with that, knowing I'd be retubing sometime in the future...

Will probably retube soon, what I want will be around NZ$300 all up, plus a little extra to buy a bias kit or have someone do it for me instead.
