Hi from Wellington

Post by Fyrbyrd » Sun Apr 25, 2010 9:32 am

I'm new here so I'm introducing myself. Looks like a really good site for NZ bassists.
I started playing in the late punk era, through metal, ska and whitebity reggae, then usual covers, and currently funk / dance cover stuff. Still have my first bass which is a Maton Fyrbyrd, one of only 32 made according to the website, so that's my login name.

Anyways, hope to contribute and discuss things like old valve amps and classic basses. cheers

Yes, I saw that Fyrbyrd on trademe, was identical to mine. It is a good surf guitar style bass with a very thin neck, single pickup, and no sustain at all, was great for punk / new wave rock but retired it now.

Will check out that Oz website. Speaking of trademe, I just bought a laser stage light, paid up for it, and the seller says it's been posted but days later must be lost. 2nd trade in a row that is turning out shonky with the seller - is this a trend?
