How much is a MM Stingray 5 3-band eq preamp worth?

Post by vandalinjandals » Tue Jul 13, 2010 11:43 am

I am contemplating selling my Stingray 3-band eq preamp.

It was almost immediately replaced with a John East preamp when bought (I bought the bass 1 month old, the previous owner told me he had replaced it pretty much straight away).

I am assuming it is a standard issue stingray preamp, was pulled from my 2007ltd edition HH stingray5.

Being sincere, how much do you think its worth?

Thanks guys!

potentially unhelpful answer but I would say it's worth less than what will happen if you go to sell on this Bass with out it.

MM is a certain sound...without trying to be too labeling... I imagine most buyers would want the option of a 'stock' instrument.

I agree, don't sell it just in case you ever sell the bass. Your idea of an "upgrade" means "not stock therefore not interested" to many others, especially considering it is a limited edition model.

Also, I think you would have a hard time selling just the stock preamp (in NZ at least).....

Yeah I totally agree with the other guys.
Put it back in the bass when you go to sell it... event if it doesn't sound better.
Modified would be a price dropper on that bass and make it harder to sell.
