Promote your band.

Post by ryla » Tue Oct 07, 2014 3:56 pm

My band had the pleasure of promoting ourselves on "Rockin the planet with Shane"
You play at the CT club in Remuera Auckland and 6 songs are recorded in HD video and the rest of the evening in audio by SAE school of engineering.
You do an in-studio interview with Shane a week later and the 30 minute show goes to air the following week on "Face TV" sky channel 83 on Thurday night at 8.30 - part of "The beat goes On" show driven by Gerard Smith of "The Rumours" (Loxene Gold Disc" winners a while back.
The show is uploaded to You Tube for you to link it to your whatever. Its promoted by Music Planet' and costs you nothing.
Of course its great feedback to review your performance.
Heres my bands effort

Hey Nev, good stuff man. Cool to finally see you playing!
I don't remember you guys having a keyboardist when I filled in for you many moons ago.
My band Black Dog did that gig with Shane a while back for a bit of fun.
Unfortunately their sound guy didn't seem to notice that the bass wasn't turned up for pretty much the whole gig. Epic fail! I should of stayed at home

Yeah it is a great idea and I think Shane's worked through a pack of local Auckland bands.

That's great - I didn't know such a place / show existed
Do you have contact details for them?
I'll see if my band are interested in doing it - any publicity is good publicity!

Ryla might know exactly who but I'm pretty sure you'd reach them via the contact form on this website; http://www.thebeatgoeson.co.nz/wawcs013 ... LANET.html
Think of at as getting a free live video + recording + ????

Probably not. It's more about getting free live video + recording and having some fun.

If you get enquiries for potential gigs a video is hard to beat for clients getting the best idea of what their hiring, on the the other hand it could put them off entirely
