Bass Teacher Recommendations

Post by Papercriminal78 » Tue Nov 18, 2014 1:58 pm

Hi - I am based in Wellington/Hutt and very keen to learn bass guitar. I am effectively starting from scratch. Having said that I am in my 40s and an experienced musician being a trumpet player, conductor/musical director for many years. I am a 'reader' and really keen to learn to play by feel rather than by the dots.

Bass guitar is an instrument I have been keen to learn for years but I now have a bit more time to dedicate some serious time to it.

The issue I have at the moment is that I don't have a teacher or really know anyone in the Wellington/Hutt area who is recommended - hence my posts. The other option is that I am totally open to lessons via Skype etc if there are good teachers out there at the real beginner level (but with real keenness to get better quickly and a full understanding of music concepts/theory etc)

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Cheers
