Thanks Ash, what a load of info! Might discard the bridge idea for now, but for the low price that i would cost me, I might try out the cap and pots at the mo. Think I'll definately try out on my squier and get that right before thinking of touching my beloved mia p. As for pups on the squier jazz, can get some dimarzio j pups for around the same price as fender jazz pups, and am after that clean jazz tone just with a bit more presence to them. Which do you think would suit better?
Cheers, Tim.

Re: Tone Upgrades
Fender MIA Precision, Squier Jazz, Genz Benz Shuttle 6.0, Ashdown ABM 1x15, 2 x DIY Jack 112 now complete!
Re: Tone Upgrades
The DiMarzio Ultra Jazz is a great set and noiseless, too. They're probably not the ideal choice for authentic vintage J tone, but I like them better anyway.
There's nothing cheaper or the same price worth having in my opinion. Seymour Duncan and Rio Grande would be the next ones up the price scale for vintage J tones.
PM me for pickup prices and whatnot.
