New Pickups - Fodera/Aero Content

Post by thenewguy » Thu Apr 14, 2011 8:37 am

I just bought these for less than a set of Bartolini's - they are Fodera-Aero Custom Shop 5-string Dual Coil pickups in handmade deep gray Buckeye Burl wooden covers that came out of a Fodera Imperial Elite.

I'm going to pick them up from Fodera directly when i visit NYC next month. excited

If only i had a better bass to put them in...

Cool! Have you heard them before?
Are you going to have time to check out a few stores while you're there?

I've only heard them in a Fodera but i've had a set of single coils in a jazz bass that i loved.

Planning on hitting the clubs big time, I want to check out 55bar, blue note, birdland etc. will hit the shops too but can't afford to spend to much so I think it'll be a whole lot of dreaming. Anyone know of some good shops to check out?

the stuff comes up on ebay & talkbass occasionally it's normally the pope pre's that people upgrade to the latest generation. i've been watching the listings over the last year or so and the normally end up going for ridiculous prices pope pre's go for around $500US. So it's just a matter of keeping an eye out for them.

Should be a fun trip. Those US music shops are just on a different planet compared to here. 8)
