hmm me too.... why don't we go at the same time? anyone else interested? then we could give em a real grilling! (assuming that's ok with Harley of course  )
Fine by me - I have just got an order for a new Omni15, so it will be done within 2 weeks, then I'll give you guys a shout. I may even have another O10.5 to put on top of the O10 ( that's a total of 3 x 10 @ 2ohms ) which is also something to behold.

That will mean an OMni15 old ( unless someone buys it meantime ), Omni15 tallboy new, Dr280, T39 sub and Omni10 and 10.5

Bring your credit card!  ( just kidding )

Well, you guys who are going to see these cabs, be prepared to be amazed! I've tried them. The sound is truly crystal clear. Would love to see you guys trying them out - my bass playing sucks too much to see what you can REALLY get out of these amazing cabs - lol!
Ok, I'll do the stupid thing first, then all you shy people follow...

Don't be scared! LOL! I suppose what I really meant, was that I can't do anything remotely different like slap, tap etc., to find out exactly how it sounds with all the different techniques etc.!

It really is worth checking them out - I was really impressed. Just short of money for the next few months, or I would be seriously considering one. Anyway, regarding the clarity of sound - I'm sure it would make me brush up on my sloppy techniques (I could never afford lessons), and that HAS to be a good thing - hehe!

Yeah the clarity aspect is going to be interesting alright with all those tweeters.
Good point about the technique aspect miss piggy.... if it is a lot clearer than normally it certinaly will highlight any technique issues and encourage improvement / embarresment! ;-) I sometimes like to practice with the treble wound up to achieve that effect.

Lol! I only do that when I'm feeling very brave!

Lol! Yeah it's not pretty to listen to that's for sure

The sound is always so different at gigs... so the highs would not be as noticable as in a recording or a practice situation. I think Harleys point about testing them live is really the only true test.

I am amazed at how many times I've played on stage and some the musos have been unhappy about what they've heard on stage YET people in the audience come up during/after the gig and rave about how great the sound is!!!

It's one thing standing close to your bass cab and getting the sound you think you like, it's another thing entirely getting a sound and tone that will captivate your audience to the extent where they let you know about it - the latter being a true test of how equipment ( and technique ) sounds.

My wife can never understand why I ever play in a group because I have explained to her that what we each get to hear on stage is not as good ( assuming a good sound tech ) as what the FOH will sound.

I'm so busy at work and with some cab orders, I won't have a good compliment of cabs here - but I will see what I can do in the next 3 weeks.
