Just dropped my stingray off at Glyn's place to get some electrical maintenance and a general tune up before the summer season starts. Real down to earth guy! Looking forward to seeing the results.

I don't think my MM has ever had a tune up.
Would be good to hear how it goes.

Yea will definitely let you know. Yea, well this is the first time I'm ever taking mine in too. I have been maintaining most things reasonably well, but I thought a professional bass deserves a professional service to keep it at its peak :D. The bass is relatively new and still getting used to NZ (well, lets be honest, Auckland :( ) humidity so things have moved around a bit. So far so good though, he really is a friendly guy!

Totally bro! I had him install a pickup I imported from the US into my acoustic. The pickup turned out to have a faulty element so he called in a favour and got me a new element and had it all installed and working within 2 days. When I got the guitar home I noticed a bit of damage around where the controller was installed. He said there was no way he could have done it and, in hindsight, it did look a lot more like "me being careless" damage. But he repaired it, no questions asked.

I won't take my instruments anywhere else and won't recommend anyone else except Mr. Glyn.

So I got my bass back from Glyn late last week. Wow He did an amazing job on setting up the bass. Intonation, action, and pickup heights are perfect. He even cleaned the bass so It is now real shiny. Unfortunately he couldnt get to the bottom of my preamp buzzing problem, but he referred me to Waylon from Mcpherson stompboxes who is his go-to guy for complex active-preamp ordeals.

So now the bass is with Waylon, and it's that nervous wait untill next week to see if my dilemmas have been fixed and finding out the bill.

I've taken one of my Rays to Glynn before, to get pickup shielding. Gonna definitely take my basses back for any future work as Glynn is very, very helpful.
