I use a boss odb-3 with all settings on flat (middle) and it sounds good to my ears.
there are ALOT of online reviews and opinions where people seem to be against this pedal.
one time, i posted a clip on youtube using this pedal where noone knew the pedal i used and got many compliments on the distortion.

yeah I do not think these are a plug and play pedal
some time needs to spent working them out

I'm hardly a distortion connoisseur though.

^^ I owned a Boss ODB and got rid of it - the distortion just didnt cut in a live n loud setting - too scooped, harsh and compressed for my liking. Why don't all pedals have mid-range control? It would make them all infinitely more usable instantly!
