Compressor choice
I'm looking for a compressor suitable for bass and kickdrum. Anyone experience with the DBX166? Anyone using it? There appears to be a 166xs and 166xl? Not sure yet on what the differences are. Any help appreciated. Chris

I personally like and own/use the Rane DC24 for bass. DBX also have some good compressors too. It is best if you get to try out the compressor before you buy it to decide if you like it or not

I use the Rane DC-24 too, great unit! Unfortunately, they are no longer made so you have to find one used somewhere such as ebay. Most were made for the US and so will have a 120V transformer. They used to sell a 240V transformer, but ran out of those several years ago.
But, you can get transformers and wire them up yourself. I did that when I moved to NZ...
